The Irishman

An Irishman walks into a pub in Dublin and orders three pints of beer. He sips a bit from each, one at a time, and repeats the process until he is finished, and then orders three more, drinking them in this same manner.
The bartender approaches him and says; "Hey, why don't you have me pull them one at a time so they don't go flat?"
The Irishman responds; "I come from a family of three brothers. One of my brothers is in America, the other in Australia. Before they left, we made a promise that each time we went out drinking, we would drink for the other two as well as ourselves."
Everyone in the bar was listening by then, and they all thought that this was a great tradition. So The Irishman becomes a regular at this pub, and got to know all the patrons. One day, months later, he walks in, and orders only two pints of beer.
The whole pub was silent.
After a few uncomfortable minutes, the bartender says; "I want you to know that on behalf of all the patrons, we are terribly sorry for your loss and if there is anything we can do, please don't hesitate to ask."
The Irishman looks up and says; "Loss? I quit drinkin'!"
