Where Did Monopoly Pieces Come From?

WHERE DID THE IDEA FOR MONOPOLY TOKENS COME FROM?

Ideas for some of the tokens made for the game of Monopoly
(boat, car, dog, hat, iron), were originally inspired by
a charm bracelet belonging to the inventor's wife.

Charm bracelets were very popular during the 1940s and 1950s
and seem to be making a strong comeback. Mothers are bring-
ing in their daughters as young as seven years old to start a
bracelet. Charms can be added to commemorate any of life's
personal special occasions, such as birthdays, graduations,
hobbies, memorable vacations, pets, even marriages and the
births of children. Some charms will hold a tiny photograph
sized to fit inside the charm frame.

Some women give their own charm bracelets to their daughters
or granddaughters in hopes that it will be an heirloom to
pass down through the generations.

There are charms and bracelets to fit anyone's budget. They
come in sterling silver, 14-karat gold, 10-karat gold and
gold plate, even 18-karat gold. Charms can be priced at as
little as $15 and go as high as $3,000 and beyond. Higher-
end charms are adorned with jewels and are larger.

Bracelets come in both the standard double-circle or a more
high-fashioned style. Bracelets and charms can be purchased
online, as well as local jewelry or department stores. Vin-
tage charms are sought by collectors at thrift and antique
stores and flea markets.

I have a charm bracelet that Bill gave me when we dated that I still have and I inherited Bill's Mom's charm bracelet which I really treasure.
