Heavy stuff . . . I also believe is sharing the Truth . . . however, when we look at ourselves as "perfect" human beings . . . we fail to see the miracle that God has wrought in us. I fail so often to be the person that I should be . . . so in that light as not to shame the person of God. He knows that we fail, He knows our frailities! Despite that, He loves us.
People look at Christians as "hypocrites".
In reference to your statement:
Nor do my daily sins and foibles do anything to render the Truth untrue. If the Truth is truly true, than my stupidity, hypocracy and misdeeds can do nothing to alter it. Perhaps only in another's perception.
I agree nothing that we do can alter the Truth . . . however, we can be a good or bad influence on others who have not seen or experienced the truth.
Look again, at the old neighborhood in Minneapolis where I lived. Once the Light was gone - the neighorhood went to slumlike conditions. So . . . there needs to be the Light!! Otherwise, things will darken and change.
No one knows better than you and I - how the influence of the Light in our lives could alter many things. But that doesn't change the sin nature. It just helps us to overcome and try to honor God and His precepts.
We're getting heavy here, Scotty!! I think that basically we agree on these issues. Some things cannot be changed - but some things will change whether we want them to or not. God does allow things to come into our lives and then there is the influence of Satan . . . he works on our weakest spot and our will can deteriorate if we allow it. It's a matter of what we want and how strong our will is.
